Always up for a Challenge!
A colleague has inspired to me try the Slice of Life (SOL) blogging challenge during the month of March. I'm already starting a day late, but she assures me it is okay...just get started! As a firm believer in being a participant in what we ask our students and teachers to do, I am definitely up for the challenge.
Over the next month I hope to post DAILY to my blog, sharing the stories of my personal and professional life. I love the following message from Stacey Shubitz, posted on January 25, 2016, on the Two Writing Teachers blog:
It takes time to get really comfortable putting yourself out there, but if you can do it, then you can be a Writer. If you tell yourself you will shut down the voices in your head telling you that you’re not talented enough, then you can be a Writer. If you tell yourself you can positively impact the lives of your students by writing regularly, then you can be a Writer. It takes time and practice, but everyone can become a great Writer. (Note the capitalization on the word Writer.)
I am ready to step out of my comfort zone, make time for daily writing, and be grateful for this opportunity to belong to a community of educators that value connecting through learning.
Welcome all Slice of Lifers...let's get this party started! (...or, better yet, thanks for accepting me a day late to the party!)
